MEN IN BLACK: Christian Movie

Here are ten reasons Men In Black is a Christian movie:

  1. There is an invisible world that most people are unaware of.
    • When I was in third grade, everyone said I was crazy…
But I knew our teacher was from Venus or something like that.
    • II Corinthians 4:18a: …as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen….
  2. There is stuff written about this invisible world, but most people don’t take it seriously.
    • These are the hot sheets?
Best investigative reporting on the planet. Read the New York Times if you want, they get lucky sometimes.
I cannot believe you’re looking for tips in the supermarket tabloids.
      Not looking for. Found.
    • Matthew 22:29: But Jesus answered them, You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.
  3. This invisible world is a matter of life and death.
    • Did he say anything to you?
Yeah, the world was coming to an end.
      Did he say when?
    • II Corinthians 4:18b: For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
  4. There are some really bad people…uh, things, in this invisible world.
    • Zed, we have a bug.
    • Ephesians 6:12: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
  5. The bad ones may look just like us.
    • At any given time there are around fifteen hundred aliens on the planet. Most of them right here in Manhattan.
    • II Corinthians 11:14: And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
  6. In order to be a participant in this invisible world, you have to die and be re-born.
    • What’s the catch?
The catch. The catch is that you will sever every human contact. Nobody will ever know you exist anywhere. Ever.
    • Romans 6:4: We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
  7. Your skilz, I mean skills, don’t matter.
    • But I need to tell you something about all your skills. As of right now…they mean precisely…dick.
    • Philippians 3:7-8: But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as [excrement], in order that I may gain Christ….
  8. Being a participant means total commitment.
    • Let’s put it on.
      Put what on?
The last suit you’ll ever wear. You will dress only in attire specially sanctioned by MIB special services. You’ll conform to the identity we give you. Eat where we tell you. Live where we tell you….
    • Luke 14:33: So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
  9. Someone may have to die so others can live.
    • You’re nothing but a smear on the sports page to me, you slimy, gut-sucking, intestinal parasite! Eat me! Eat me!!!!
    • John 11:50-51: “Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish.” He did not say this of his own accord, but being high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,
  10. Small things can be really, really important.
    • You humans! When will you learn size doesn’t matter? Just because something’s important, doesn’t mean it’s not very small.
    • Mark 4:30-32: And he said, With what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when sown on the ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on earth, yet when it is sown it grows up and becomes larger than all the garden plants and puts out large branches, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its shade.
